We have been building interactive, engaging online web experiences for 14+ years, and with the vast array of devices now at our fingertips, your website should be optimized to work no matter what device it’s being viewed on.
We all wish that we could go back to the days when one size fit all, but those days are gone and responsive or fluid design is what every website experience requires these days.
What is responsive and fluid design?
Responsive (also known as adaptive) design is fixed width blocks that snap into place and adjust based on assigned device breakpoints. This allows us to design with precision for specific devices.
Fluid website design is when your rows, columns or block span 100% of the page and adjust fluidly when the page is resized to specific device resolution sizes.Â
Sometimes fluid and responsive design has to be mixed together in order to accomplish the look and feel you’re going for. On desktop we may want the design to span 100% of the page, but on mobile we may need on section to jump above another section. We can accomplish this using this design method.
